Blessings

Yesterday was a day of mishaps and blessings. But I guess that is what you could describe as a normal day anyway.

I rushed out in the morning to go to the kindergarten to teach and heard a strange noise in the engine of the car. Since I know nothing about cars I decided to stop by Tetsu office and consult him. He came out and looked at it but could find nothing wrong so he told me to call him if I had any more trouble. Unfortunately I'd left the cell phone at home which annoys him but rather than get annoyed he sheepishly admitted he'd left his at home too. First blessing!

I was late to the kindergarten because of my stop and was slightly panicking but when I pulled in, no cars. Duh. This is Golden Week and the kids have the day off! Not late! Second blessing! (embarrassing too.)

With the extra two hours I did errands and even got to the fabric store and bought fabric for the Wonky Word quilt! Third blessing!

Headed back home but darn, the car is still making noises so stop back at Tetsu's office and exchange cars with him. Drive in the driveway and rats! Tetsu has my key holder with the house key! Oh no! I'm going to have to go all the way back and get it! But wait! Is it possible I've left a door unlocked? Yes! Thank you Lord! I forgot to lock the back door! Fourth blessing! (Once Takumi got in the house by climbing up the air conditioning unit and hoisting himself onto the veranda and lifting the sliding glass door out of the rail. Didn't make me feel to good about burgler prevention. But no, I wasn't planning to try this spiderman approach yesterday.)

Later in the afternoon, a neighbor came to the door and while we were chatting Lemi escaped and off she went into the forest. I spent an hour looking for Lemi but no go. She was enjoying her adventure but at least I got a lot of steps onto my step counter for the day (17310 to be exact!). Fifth blessing, I suppose.

Lemi did come back later in the evening. Sixth blessing!

"Take your everyday ordinary life -- your sleeping, eating, going to work, and walking-around life -- and place it before God as an offering."
Romans 12:1 (Message Bible)

What a lovely post, Taniwa ! Full of gratitudes, in a simple, ordinary day ! Isn't that what we should all keep in mind ? (I think it's the key to contentment and happiness)...
I love your last sentence, from the Holly Scriptures.
THANKS !

Hugs & smiles !

Oh, how comforting is that verse from Romans. Somedays I think I am losing my mind... (along with misplacing things! Like my car key!!) yesterday it was my camera. I was tearing the house apart and on the verge of tears (probably for my mind more than the camera) when my son said: "Oh, I have it"!! Big time BLESSING. :)

Dear Tanya,
I know that some days are hard but then everything pass and you'll feel better!

About your last post, I want to tell you that the border is really nice!

Are those cakes something like a marmelade?
ciao ciao

Whew! When I first started reading about your car noises and saw the picture of the cat, I thought you were going to say that she was in the engine! I am glad that was not the case and that all was well at the end of the day.
