Three Colored Rice Bowl

Ok. I've got a busy day today again but how about a recipe?

This is called "Three Colored Rice Bowl"

ingredients:
rice
150gms. ground beef, pork, chicken etc.
2 eggs
10-12 snow peas
sugar, soy sauce, salt and oil

  • De-string snow peas and boil lightly in salt water
  • Mix eggs with sugar (to taste. Sweet is very nice) and scramble
  • Remove eggs from fry pan and add meat, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 tablespoon water. Simmer until liquid boils down
  • Serve rice in a bowl with peas, eggs and meat poured over. (If you have red ginger to add as an extra spot of color it is very nice but we don't like red ginger.)
My side dish was fish cakes and taro potatoes.

How do you like my chopsticks? A few years ago I decided that my meals may not be very tasty but I could still make dinner enjoyable with fun chopsticks. These really are chopsticks, not colored pencils, but everyone is always surprised to see them on my kitchen table.

What colors do you want to eat with today?

I'll use one of those yummy lime green ones, and maybe a pink one but I'm afraid I'm rather clumsy with chop sticks. The food looks yummy.

Very cute. Do they work well to eat with?

Tanya - your 'pencil' chopsticks made me smile - what fun. And the food looks delicious - what time's dinner?

I would like to eat today with yellow.

The organised side of me would say you need to eat with matching chopsticks...the wild side would want to eat with 2 different colours! Like red and turquoise!

I'm having a hard time believing those are chopsticks even after you've told me. How about sky blue and lime green...

Oh, great a recipe !!! I would like to cook it and I´ll try to translate it, but I think it is not easy to translate a recipe. Don´t know what are snow peas in german, perhaps we call it "Zuckerschoten" !?!
Thank you for sharing :-)
A nice photo, funny your chopsticks. I also choose two colours, blue and yellow...
