Mars

Welcome to Mars!

I have got to run so I've only time to show a couple pictures. Don't you just love the texture on this?! And the color! I thought this looked like something out of this world. I've never seen one before so am I just behind times or is it a new piece of produce hitting the markets? This, by the way, is a Cauli-ccoli, which seems to be a cross species of Cauliflower and Broccoli. I haven't eaten it yet so I don't know what it tastes like. Just admiring it and taking pictures!
"Take me to your leader!"

I've been thinking of them as Broccoflowers. Aren't they gorgeous? I've seen them a couple of times here but it was always too dark to take photos. They ARE absolutely alien looking. Let me know how it tastes.

I've seen these in the expensive end of the veg stands in local supermarkets - not tried them - nature is amazing, you couldn't make up a pattern as intricate as that if you tried

I saw them in the Seattle market last year for the first time. I too took pictures!

Makes me actually want to EAT it, lol...and I don't "do" many veggies.

Over here I think they are called Romanesco or something. They are delicious steamed, but not for very long as they tend to fall apart.

I look the look of them too and the colour.

In the States they're called broccoflower and not readily available. Occasionally they'll appear at the specialty food shops. They're pricey and I've not tried them. Would love to, though.

neither broccoli nor cauliflower is a favorite here, and the combination does nothing to entice me to eat it, but ti is a neat texture!

They call it Broccolini here. I have not tried them- rather expensive. I like both Broccoli & Cauli, so think I would like these.

You can get them in The Netherlands, no problem.
They look nice, but I must say I prefer broccoli.

Oh, we have that too and we call it Romanesco !don´t know why. It is delicious. I also like broccoli and cauliflower.
I was not here for a long time and I have to read a lot of posts. That post with the kindergarten lunch is so nice !
And your shopping bag post and, and, and...
It is always nice to be here and I love those informations about your country.
On saturday I have sent you a letter with the pattern. I hope it will arrive you soon.

They are tasty! Then again, I love both broccoli and cauliflower anyway! Your kimono fabric top is lovely (but yes, those patterns are enough to drive a sane sewer to drinking) -- so glad your mother in law was pleased!

I haven't seen this type of veggie before. It sure is pretty for a veggie!
