SNOW!

SNOW! We woke up this morning to the first snowfall of the season. It's true a bit of snow stayed in the fields a couple of weeks back but nothing that required snow shoveling. Not today though! Today we have quite a blanket of snow everywhere and Tetsu has already spent an hour shoveling the walk and the road in front of our house. As soon as he finished that job he took off with the shovels for the convalescent home and he's shoveling there now. That's one thing I love about Tetsu is that he goes out of his way and beyond the call of duty to make himself useful. Yesterday (before the snow) he was cleaning up our yard and even ended up raking the forest area. (I don't know why, but it makes for a nice view of the forest). Today he shoveled the walkway and then continued into the road since we are on a corner and cars could slip easily here. And now, even though it is Sunday and his day off, he's run to his convalescent home in the next town to make life easier for the care workers and families coming to the home.

That does mean that I'm left on my own to get to church and I am NOT going to drive there so I'm headed off now for a hike through the forest and snow. We'll see how long a 15 minute walk takes me on a day like this! I'd better start now so I'll be back later!

I envy you all that beautiful snow (just not Tetsu's shoveling job - but goodness, is he ever conscientious). Here in the southeast United States, we haven't seen enough this year to make a good-sized snowball. Now that I'm retired and don't have to drive in it, it won't snow!

We are still waiting for the first snow this winter.
I placed a new photo of my 365 challenge quiilt. Hope to see yours soon.

The snow is pretty, I haven't seen a two shoveled approach to snow clearing before. When we had other neighbors, when I raked leaves or shoveled snow, I found myself enjoying it so much that I would do the neighbor's area as well.

Tetsu is obviously very kind! It would keep you warm I suppose.
Hope your journey to church was not too arduous.

Loved your last post about the Mon too.
