Kiddy toilets

Today I went to the kindergarten to tell the principal something and I found the whole place in an uproar for tomorrow's first day of kindergarten. Over the spring break (three weeks) major renovations have been taking place and things were still being moved and sorted and filed. And the biggest change of all was a brand new bathroom that had been built next to the classrooms.

Do I really want to show this? These are minuscule toilets for the little 3 and 4 year olds to use. The kids just tend to shed their clothes and underpants in the hall and no one seems to mind that everyone is looking on. The toilet on the left can be used normally or as a semi-squat style, sort of an inbetween from the Japanese potty chairs and a regular toilet. On the other side of the room there were all these cute little urinals too! And look at the toilet paper holders! Can you tell that they are little elephants and the toilet paper roll is the ear? So cute! Thankfully, there is a new adult size bathroom built right next to this facility and it has a bit more privacy. I'll use that one thank you.

The toilets were so tiny but alone I decided that you couldn't tell what size they were so I got the principal to snap my picture! The things I'll do for this blog!

Love the elephants! The multicolor toilets is kind of interesting, but I notice that these do not have the little sink on the back like in your bathroom at home.

I imagine that a bathroom like this with no privacy stalls would cause an uproar here in the US.

I like the colored toilets! I think my son would appreciate using these pint-sized toilets. I see you have the bathroom sandals on, are the 3 and 4 year olds good about putting those one before entering the bathroom?

Oh how adorable! I love the elephants.

The elementary school nearby had stalls, but they wound up removing the doors. I'm not sure why, maybe to keep kids from doing things in there that they weren't supposed to, or maybe people kept getting hit with the doors. The doors were up from the ground, so it couldn't be that a kid got stuck in there.

How adorable! I would like an elephant for my powder room. It would be so much fun being in your kindergarten. Cutest ever!

Those toilets are so cute! I've seen little ones here in the US but not in designer colors nor with fancy-shmancy toilet paper holders. How fun.

Hey Auntie Tani,
I will send you a picture of our cute little sadie. Takumi is visiting at our house right now and we were asking him some questions about if he knew when you were coming. He had no idea. So I have to ask you when ar you coming?

You go to great lengths to provide illustrations for your blog. This one tops them all.

You are so funny. Just one important question: Were you wearing your bathroom shoes?
