53

I am having a little trouble figuring out a schedule now that I'm back to daily teaching. I couldn't get in blogging time yesterday! SHOCK! I'm off again this morning in another half hour so this will have to be short too. How about a bunch of pictures?

Yesterday was my birthday and though the day was full of classes some of my friends remembered. One student made me a delicious Blueberry Pie (she always makes a pie or cake when any of us have a birthday!) and another friend brought me a cute pair of socks. Aren't these adorable! Each toe has a kitty face on it!
Oops. Another friend crocheted me a lovely little bag made from Tetsu's mother's kimono fabric but for some reason I can't get the picture to download onto the computer. I'll try again later today. Thank you Mrs. Ide! I'll get your bag shown as soon as possible!

In the evening Tetsu and Takumi and I went out for a late dinner and Tetsu bought me a fancy cushion, and a large tote bag. My big present to myself (and from Grandma) was my computer but as I am awaiting a wireless router that I ordered I am still using my old computer to connect to Internet

As for the sewing front, nothing to show yet. I need to get my summer 365 Challenge entries from computer to fabric and then I AM FINISHED! I started the 365 Challenge last year on my birthday and it was definitely a CHALLENGE. I hate to say it, but I'm relieved that it is done just because I'd get behind in writing down what I'd done (blogging helped out a lot though) and then I'd sit staring at the calendar trying to figure out the important events for each day. Once all the entries are written down I'll need to figure out how to sew the rows together, but I'm imagining this as being a colorful quilt.

Off to a day of teaching!

Happy Birthday to you. I love the socks. They are so cute. I am not a cat person but these are cute.

Belated happy birthday wishes, you have some cool gifts there. The 365 Challenge...don't know if I'll ever finish mine. I don't have much left to do but it isn't square, and I really lost interest. It lies on the cutting table and I ignore it...

Happy birthday Tanya! I can understand the relief of finishing the 365 quilt. I look forward to seeing the finished product. Maybe for this year's quilt, you can make a 52 week quilt. :)

Happy Birthday! Sounds like a wonderful day. Glad to read that you've got the computers set up - I've loved having my laptop this last year and the wireless internet. I can sit in the living room with Keith or carry it out to the balcony and don't have to be sitting downstairs by myself.
