Another anniversary

Hmmm. I almost missed this day, but I thought I'd mention that Tetsu and I celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary yesterday. I guess I showed wedding pictures last year so I'm not going to do that again. If you want to see me in wedding finery (including a kimono that looked very nice in the picture but was a bear to walk in!) you can click on the link here.

The day wasn't particularly romantic. Walk the dog, participate in the twice yearly neighborhood clean-up (cutting back the shrubbery and cleaning out gutters) and the community meeting hall. I went to church but Tetsu stayed home and did carpentry (don't tell the pastor). We are still fighting the battle with an over-barking dog and the most recent strategy resulted in Tetsu putting up a reed barrier so that Choco can't see anyone walking by. It also serves as extra shade in the summer.

Takumi was no where to be found at lunchtime so Tetsu and I went out to our favorite Indian restaurant and gorged ourselves there. Sooooo good! Then came back home in time for another thunder storm and so both of us napped away the rest of the afternoon. Boring? Yep. But good boring for us long-married folks that can snore with our mouths open and wake up resembling a chicken AND still say "I love you."

Happy anniversary Tetsu! "Kotoshi mo yoroshiku onegaishimasu!" "Hoping for another good year together!"

sometimes doing something "special" is highly overrated. Sounds like you had an enjoyable day, and rememebred your wedding, which is really what an anniversary is for in humble opinion.

Congratulations on sticking together for 28 years. Quilt pixie is right - it seems like you had a thoroughly nice day, and what can be better? I loved the picture of you in your kimono, but I can just imagine how awkward it would be to someone used to western clothes. I'm sure you've tried everything to get your dog to stop barking, but I saw on a TV programme that throwing a cup of water at a dog every time they barked soon solved the problem. It might be worth a try - it doesn't sound too cruel does it?

Happy Anniversary! We have you beat by about 9 months! our 29th is coming up in October. We are lucky if my husband is even in TOWN, so we celebrate when we WANT to ...as long as we are together, its a celebration! My prayer for you is for many more anniversaries together.

Happy Anniversary! Keith and I are a pretty boring couple too when we're not traveling but we suit each other well! (Maybe content is a better word than boring)
