Choco's mess

I haven't featured Choco much on my blog lately. She is slightly put out at being ignored ever since Chip showed up at our house. Not so much ignored but Choco lunges at Chip and though Chip scampers away she seems to think that the world, including the dog, revolves around her and will scamper back into Choco's range to play with something. (Like Choco's tail!) Dangerous living. So whenever Choco comes into the house I put her in her cage or vice versa and Chip goes into a cage while Choco gets to stay out.

It is getting quite a bit colder here in Nikko and though Choco always barks she has added new sounds to her vocabulary which I translate as

"Hey, it's cold out here. I want to come in the house!"

Sorry, not while English students are coming in and out so Choco stays outdoors and makes noise. Just so that she'll have a comforting cushion to sleep on I took a lovely thick cushion outside and put it in Choco's doghouse.

"There. Isn't that nice? That should be warm to sleep on for awhile and if it rains the doghouse will be very cozy."

Not long after I looked out the window and Choco had dragged the cushion out onto her deck.

"Dumb dog. Now if it rains she AND the cushion is going to get wet."

Left it at that and a few hours later look what greeted me!

So much for THAT cushion! Choco seems to like it just as much this way but into the garbage it went. Maybe she wasn't telling me she she was cold. Maybe she was telling me she wanted a new chew toy...

Oh, my -- and here I was about to buy my brother's dog a new dog bed for Christmas! Maybe she liked the texture of the stuffing better than the cover. Or she decided it's "Let's eat a cushion day". Who knows with dogs!

reading minds is near impossible with another human -- I wouldn't even try with an animal! Good luck at the translating...

Maybe the cushion was too plump! Chesty can be bad about chewing things too.

I guess she gets bored wen she's alone, and she just wants to be with you all the time. My dog would do exactly the same thing.

The picture of her cuddled up in the batting and the scraps is funny.

Sorry Tanya, she looks innocent to me. Maybe she wants to be a quiler and work with batting like she has seen you do.

Choco looks quite proud of herself!
I guess she thinks it is not fair she has to stay outdoors.
