Messes

I'm off in a few minutes for the kindergarten so just a quick picture or two here.

Sigh. Well, so much for the Christmas tree. Toi is the culprit. He loves those hanging ornaments. Chip was overjoyed at the mess on the floor. There is now a blank spot on the table and I've put the decorations back in their box. It must be hard for cats to realize the stuff mouse hanging from the cat tree and the stuffed snowman on the Christmas tree are different.

And as for more messes. This is what Choco has done. It is so cold outside but she does not appreciate my thoughtfulness and instead ripped her cushion to shreds. Dumb dog is now sitting in front of her kennel complaining that she's cold. I'm not giving her another cushion.

Tanya, don't get too upset with Choco! It seems she is a mixed breed, Pointer and maybe Lab, both are highly energetic and need work to do and a lot of exercise. Years ago, when I was young enough to put up with that, I had a Dalmatian and the first 5 years were like having a hyper active child. Every day we had to go for a ride to a nearby area where he could run free. After that he settled down and he was the best dog ever for the next 9 years.

hi, Tanya from wet, wet italy. Can you believe they are the same cats that posed so nicely for the post a few days ago ? And Choco.... Well, she needs to be loved...
Maybe with time she will calm down....

Your picture of wrecked decorations took me right back to the days when we've had kittens. They just can't help themselves can they? All those new, shiny, different, wriggly things, all so available. Hey ho, next year it will be different. Poor Choco, she seems to be a bit of a mixed-up dog. It's just lucky that you love her - well, most of the time anyway.

I'm sorry for laughing, but you can laugh when I get my tree up and you see what happens. I don't have a dog, but I have chickens digging up my bulbs and kicking my mulch all over. Sigh, the things we do for our animal friends...

Is there a place you can let Choco off her leash for a good run every day? It might dissipate some of that pent-up energy. Here in the US we have dog parks for safe off-leash exercise. I know you do the best you can and walk her but she does look like a hunting dog mix and they need to be busy. As for the tree? I don't think there's any hope this year. Maybe next Christmas your little kitty juvenile delinquents will be more grown up! The only thing you could do is tie the tree down so it can't be knocked over and only use soft ornaments they can't break. But, it's hard to get too mad, isn't it?

Tanya,

I certainly understand giving up on cushions, and shipping from the states is exhorbitant, but I've had excellent luck with dog beds from http://www.victoriapeak.com/store/.

Our dog dug his way through several beds, but as much as he tried he never made a dent in the denim cover of his Victoria Peak bed.

Love your blog! One of your lurkers.

I found one big problem if I had a dog or a cat. Should I think this is abnormal or normal?
