It is an interesting design because Tetsu extended the shelf part out beyond the shelf walls to give me extra space. The shelves are also partly removable and shiftable so I can put more stuff on one side than the other if I want. But since the wall is no larger than the length of the shelves it will probably stay this way.
Most of the building went on upstairs in my sewing room because it ended up a lot bigger than originally planned. Bang, bang, bang. Hammer, hammer, hammer. Oops. Too long. Bang, bang, bang, saw, saw, saw. Hammer, hammer, hammer again. Velvet probably has a headache this morning.
I put quite a lot of my miscellaneous stuff on the sheves. I really need to get some matching baskets or something now. Most of that stuff are scraps and crumbs and strings. The actual stash part of my fabric collection sits in another drawer and I could probably get it all in here if I had some nice boxes or crates.
Chip and Cleo came visiting and declared the shelves a great cat jungle gym.

WOW Tetsu!!!!! NICE JOB! Tanya, I think I need to borrow him - I would love some shelves like that! I have everything stuffed into totes, piled on top of each other, and what I need is ALWAYS in the bottom one. You are going to be so organized now! Get some clear boxes if you can, so you can see what's in them - boy am I jealous!
The shelves are very pretty and I like the extensions!
Wow - Tetsu did a lot of work for the kitties! LOL - since they seem to be enjoying it a LOT.
Extensions are a great idea, and leaving them unfastened is even better - more options.
That's a very nice shelving unit. Kudo's to Tetsu. You are lucky to have such a helpful husband. And, yes, it does make a great cat jungle gym!
As for storage, Suzan at reluctantquilter.blogspog.com has been making some nice fabric baskets. You could color coordinate. Don't forget a matching cat bed for Velvet!
I'm trying to catch up on your happening, so I'll probably be posting backwards! It's is nice of Tetsu to build shelves for you. Chip and Cleo seem to have found a new playground. They will be spending more time in your sewing room that what you would like, I bet!
Bless Tetsu! At least he has a go at it. Gom is much the same about measurements, he is likely to have a bit of string to use for his 'ruler'.!
