Angels

Good Morning! I am making an effort to start out the day cheerfully. I drew happy faces on our coffee this morning (whipped milk and cinnamon faces) to get me in the mood.

I got a phone call from Marcy, my sister-in-law yesterday afternoon. Hmmm. That is never good... No, no! Getting to talk to Marcy is great! But if she has to call for a special reason then I know it is not so good.

Mother is in an ICU unit. Not good. She is talking. Good. The doctor doesn't like what he sees. Not good. Marcy is spending a lot of time at the hospital. Good for Mom, not good in general.

So I've got to decide if I'm flying out suddenly this weekend, or next week. I had planned to go on July 9th but maybe I'd better go now... I hate this. Deciding is worse than doing. I'm waiting for more news, someone to tell me to get on a plane or wait. I'm going through my papers to see if I can find all of my students' telephone numbers in case I have to suddenly cancel. Wow, am I disorganized. I should have these things at my fingertips but I find that I don't know how to get in touch with 10 of my students.

I'm praying, but I don't know what to pray for... Health... Love... Ease... Strength... Wisdom...

One of Marcy's favorite Bible verses is:

"The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him..."
Psalms 34:7

Right now I'm believing that we are surrounded by God's angels.

Tanya, I am praying. Go. That's one of my favorite verses as well.

I hope your Mom will be OK. You plan to come to the States anyway, so why don't you just take a few deep breaths and call the airlines to see what's available for flights for coming earlier than planned. Maybe when you talk to your SIL again she'll have a better idea of what's going on.

Oh, Tanya, just when I have a few minutes to check out your Blog, I read this. I will say a prayer especially for your family tonight. I'll be thinking of you and praying for your Mother.

I'm hoping Marcy will call you with good news and that you will find someone to get in touch with those 10 students for you. Be sure to take some breaks and rest. Hugs!

Tanya, after 20 years of living away from my Mom, if my heart says go, I go and don't worry about making a wasted trip ( I do realize that even though I'm far from home I'm still closer than you). I'm so sorry to hear that your Mom is in ICU and not doing so well and will be thinking of you both.

I hope everything will be fine with your mom, and that you can leave quickly and be with her. Regards.

Tanya, I agree with Mary....if your heart says go...GO. I've done that with my parents and when my Mom DID pass on I knew I'd been with her as much as I could and it was good. Same now with my Dad. We're 900 miles apart. Here's a big hug. Take a deep breath and know that I'm praying too.

I'm thinking of you. May the moments to come give you peace and calm that you need and that the direction and decisions you need to make are clear. I have faith that you will be guided during this difficult time. ((HUGS))

We will be praying for you, your Mom, and the entire family. Having just lost my Dad I know the dilema you are facing. Hope all goes well -- The Lord will be with you whatever you decide.

Hoping to hear that your Mom is better and you will soon be on your way to be with her. Sometimes when we don't know what to pray for..."Just let go and Let God".
Thinking of you..
Love,
Liz

And within that circle of angels, I hope you feel the prayers of your quilting friends buoying you up. So sorry to hear about your mother. Do what you need to do to support your family and keep your mind at ease - your students' mothers will understand. If your heart tells you to go now, it's the right thing to do. We are all keeping you in our thoughts.
