More hot springs

The weekend was rainy and instead of going out to see things Tetsu and I opted for a hot spring again. This is becoming a weekly activity... I very cleverly brought my applique and embroidery thread along and after a quick bath found myself a spot to do applique.

Saturday's hot spring was rather high-tech. Besides the numerous outdoor baths (a couple that looked like caldrons for each person to step into and "cook"!) there were herb mist baths, salt saunas (you apply salt all over your body... why?) jacuzzi like baths, marble slab baths (sleep in the nude on slabs of heated marble) and electricity baths (yes! they shoot volts of electricity through the water! I stay away from those!).

In the relaxing area were seats that looked like first class seats on an airplane each equipped with a flat screen TV and built in speakers in the headrest. A place to hold a drink (and in my case sewing impletments) and one can spend hours just... relaxing. I'd rather sew than relax.

Sounds like something I would enjoy. But I'm with you I would opt for a quick bath and long relaxing sewing session.

Electricity baths???? OH MY! I love that chair, I think I need one in my sewing room.

Hope that chair enabled you to do applique and relax at the same time. Love the picture of the happy people in the hot spring. I see they have the little towels on their heads that you mentioned before. Do they have a bell at the hot spring?

Your posts are always so interesting. What is in your tiny drink there? That's not a Big Gulp :-). Who runs these baths, different groups?

I would definitely rather sew than soak!
