I spent the morning sewing and then did some errands in the afternoon.
Besides doing my quilting I spent a short amount of time up in the sewing room making some cell phone bags.
BrendaLou sent me some bag making patterns after I commented about them on her blog. She said she had been teaching some young girls how to make these bags and since I'm always looking for easy patterns that I might make with a couple kids, I asked if she'd be doing a tutorial. No tutorial but she offered to send me the pattern printed out on interfacing. And what a fun pattern! Little printed greetings on it like "Smile" and "Have a beautiful day," etc. BrendaLou sent enough for I think 9 bags so that I can teach quite a few children. I had to try it out yesterday and made one for myself and one for a cat lover friend.
I also pulled out the last of my Laurel Burch fabric to make a bright colored cell phone case for a cat lover friend. More about her tomorrow.
Thank you so much BrendaLou! The pattern is wonderful and the cellphone bag is a delight to make!

Love those bags! I love that Laurel Burch fabric, such fun cats.
Glad you suffered no damage. We have had some wild winds here, but also, no damage, luckily.
Looking great. I need to make one for my phone.
Glad you had only leaves, branches and nuts to contend with after the typhoon continued on its journey. Tanya, every time I mention to Bill that I've read your blog, he chuckles and asks how the new kitty is...and how did he take to his house, etc..he is a cat lover, also, tho we have only one...and he loved the story of how your latest arrived, then left, then came to stay....going to cut some fabric for a wall hanging I'm making at sewingt day tomorrow...at my sister's house...
Yesterday, we went to Shipshewana...an Amish community about 1 hour north of us..wonderful stores...including several with nice fabric, and lots of it...should you ever need any special things for sewing, I would be glad to go there for you and get it....(well, it would be another opportunity for ME to go there, too :) Blessings on your day, Pat H
Those are darling - I love the black and white one especially. I'm so glad you didn't get bad storms!
I'm a little behind on "blog reads'.... but glad all is well.
Any ideas on a simple weaving, crochet, or needle work project for early elementary age kids? Can't use sewing machine has to be hand work...?
Love the little bags TOO CUTE!
