Yesterday Tetsu and I cleaned awhile and then went out to lunch. Did some shopping, ran into a friend and had coffee together. Came home. Correction. Tried to come home. About a mile from home a van crossed over the center line and rammed into our car! My new little Toyota was assaulted!
Call the police. Stand around for 15 minutes while they get there. It's not like you can make pleasant small talk with the crashee. Tetsu barked out suggestions.
"Don't you think you should call your employer? Don't you think you might have him contact the company's insurance agent?"
"Excuse me. HE crossed over the center line."
"Everyone is incompetent!"
After two hours of sitting in the sweltering car I struck out towards home... Got my daily pedometer count in... and Tetsu arrived home an hour later still fuming. All I can say is that I now realize why it is important to carry a cell phone.
This morning Tetsu is in a bad mood. Barely grunting at me and scowling at the world. I don't know why he's angry at me! Thank goodness I wasn't driving! Makes me wish I'd stayed another week in the States! Good luck to the people in his office today!
On the bright side (which even Tetsu recognizes) no one was hurt, the car isn't badly damaged, everyone has insurance. My poor little car is going in for repairs today...

So sad this happened.... good point about the cell phone in the 21st century.... even though we survived just fine 40 years ago without one..... Stay safe.
So sorry about the accident. Glad that no one was hurt. I hope that your husband comes home in a little better mood.

I'm glad no one was hurt. All the rest is a pain but can eventually be sorted out.
how on earth can it be in any way your fault when HE was on the wrong side of the road ?
Oh my goodness. I'm glad you and Tetsu weren't hurt!
I'm glad you are okay. I'm sure it would have been worse for Tetsu if you weren't there to support him. I'd probably be grumpy too.

Heavens, I'm so glad you're all OK! But let me get this straight -he crossed over the line and hit you, but because you were moving it's 50% your fault???!!! In what insane world is that possible? It was a good thing that you WERE moving so you could evade the accident, and that Tetsu is a good driver, or he would have plowed right over you! Your insurance may go up since this idiot hit you. How unfair is that?
So sorry this happened, glad you are all unhurt, if vastly frazzled.
Oh my! I"m so glad that no one was hurt. I hope that you can do some hand work to take your mind this accident. Bright Blessings and Happy Stitches! Jay
Glad you and Tetsu were okay! I had to laugh at your getting out and walking home after an hour, too funny. I hope your little car is all better soon.
So glad there was no more than wounded pride! My daughter had her car smashed into, in a car park, then the person who was resposible, totally denied it, while he was admitting to hitting another car, in the same car park!
Do hope it is all resolved now.
So glad that no one was hurt...this could have resulted in terrible injury. In Canada, the other driver would likely be charged with careless driving, be fined up to $1,000 and also get time in jail!
Sorry to read about your accident...but relieved to know that you are ok. Can't believe that you are 50% responsible..doesn't seem fair.
