Happy Easter

Happy Easter!

Easter has not made it to Japan. No Easter eggs, no bunnies, absolutely no Resurrection! Even in our church our Easter celebration is going to be a service... sushi lunch boxes and then a budget congregational meeting. A meeting?! On Easter?! (But I'm one of the elders who decided the date so I can't complain...)

Mrs. Furui is in the Easter spirit by decorating her house with her display of Easter eggs. When she lived in Europe she collected many fancy eggs and at this time of year her house takes on a European feel (I guess... I've never been in a European house.)

On Thursday Y-kun came proudly to English bearing daffodils from his garden and a big smile. Spring has arrived!

My little cross vase from Marlene is my only Easter decoration but it does show off Y-kun's daffodils very nicely!

Wishing you a wonderful Easter Sunday! The Lord is risen indeed!

Hi Tanya,
I have been a lurker. I loved reading your blog so much that it consumed weeks and weeks of my spare time reading right back through to the beginning of your blogging!

In the spirit of Easter, I just had to write to say how very Happy I am to see that little Y-kun is smiling and all appears to be good in his world. I must say, to me, you would be an instrument of God's, who has been chosen to bring some sunshine into Y-kun's life. He will remember your interest and kindness always when he grows up.

Thank you for being such a caring & beautiful person.

Tanya,

I found your blog through your stories about living in Japan after the earthquake and tsusami. Thank you for keeping me and others informed about what was, and still is happening away from the media hype.

As a bonus I have a lot of reading to catch up on about a quilter in Japan ... I have admired Japanese quilting since first sighting them in magazines and in exhibitions about fifteen years ago.

I wish you and your family a wonderful Easter, and all the best in the future.

And a Happy Easter to you. The Lord is risen indeed and although here in NZ it is not the season on new Spring life (rather of dead but beautifully coloured autumn leaves) I too rejoice in the wonder of the Lord's resurrection. Blessings on you, Tetsu and all your family

Tanya, It is late Saturday night in Georgia and I always love reading your take on things and you are right on target regarding Easter. We will go to Sunday School and Church tomorrow and i will think of you and your Church service too. The daffodils your young student brought are so beautiful and your vase is unique. I wish you and your family joy, hope and peace this wonderful season

Daffodils are my absolute favorite flowers, and what a large variety Y-kun has brought to you. Very appropriate for your Cross Vase. Easter Blessings to you. We went to a Good Friday service (the first in a long time at our church) and will go to church tomorrow morning and on to dinner with friends.

Easter Greetings to you and Tetsu. Flowers, eggs on the lovely wooden hanger. May you both be blessed with safety, happiness, friends, laughter and sunshine.
Quilting, and good health also.

here in NZ we had a sunshiney day, but raining now. In Christchurch so many of the churches were damaged in February .there was a beautiful combined service, held....wait for it... in a Funeral Parlour .Everyone enjoyed the service, the venue was so peaceful looking, it just seemed to be the right idea.
As always, cheers from Nancy J
