I took lots of pictures which are self explanatory... I did ask one of the ladies standing around which had been made first, the quilts or the stained glass. She informed me that there is a group that does stained glass work and then they lent the stained glass patterns to a quilting group that specializes in stained glass quilting. And for the first time the two groups collaborated to have a stained glass quilt show.
I hope you'll enjoy the pictures!
Now... Who wants to make a stained glass quilt?

WOW!
Here in NZ it is Mothers' Day. A beautiful card with beautful words, and phone call from older daughter, and younger daughter just phoned from Waimate in the South Island, with words of love, and wondering if I did anything special. The short answer was no, we went out yesterday instead. How lovely that Tetsu took you out, and what a stunning exhibition. The cat and the tulips, or is it " The tulips and the cat" Definitely my favourite. Which one will you start with Tanya?. Did you leave the space for someone's stained glass quilt??? we will wait and see.Cheers from Jean
WOW is right! All of those are gorgeous both in glass and fabric. The cat is my favorite, too. (I have 6 cats as you do.)
Wow they really are a wow factor beautiful, love them all but yes the cats are the winner for me.

I took in a quilt show yesterday as well. A big sign as you enter said NO PHOTOS. I think I like the show you went to better.
The quilts are just lovely x
You are very naughty Tanya - putting temptation in my way - I must resist - too many projects already on the go - but lovely work by both the glassworkers and the quilters - and full marks to Tetsu for taking you to the exhibition :)
How beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your photos with us!
Your Tetsu is so sweet to take you to the exhibition. I've said it before...he's a keeper.
Happy Mother's Day, Tanya.

These are just wonderful. Thank you for sharing. And I'm going to pass on making a stained glass quilt. For now.
What beautiful work! I have one huge stained glass sample quilt that I made about 25 years ago. Their work is so compex and intricate - makes me want to pull out the old patterns.
Me!!! I want to make a stained glass quilt! For now I will just enjoy these pictures! You always have me thinking and dreaming....
Oh, I love those quilts.
I am not ignoring you during the week, Tanya, I just can't log into your or other blogs until I get to a US port with enough bandwidth. That is generally only Sundays now.
Happy Mothers Day from way over here to way over there!

They are so beautiful. Makes me want to try a quilt from a stained glass pattern. Thank you for sharing.
Aren't they all amazing! I have always admired stained glass quilts, but never looked into the technique. But I see much hand stitching in some, so I may just look into a little more.
Thanks for the post. So glad you had a nice little get a way day.
Tetsu is a very considerate man.
Happy Mother's Day, though by the time you read this, I think it will be Monday.
xx, Carol
While I don't think I want to make a stained glass quilt, these are beautiful. How much fun that Tetsu thought of taking you to see this exhibit.
What a great date! Tetsu is so considerate.
Those quilts are amazing, thank you for sharing them with us. Most of the stained glass quilts I've seen are made with "channels", I like the look of the applique ones too!
What beautiful work. One more quilting technique to add to my long list.
Such fun to see the glass and the quilt..... I am not interested in making a stain glass quilt..... but did do stain glass for a while 35 years ago.... last piece is still in pieces in the garage on the TOP shelf of storage bin. Hummm sort of like the coloset with UFO of quilts.
Those are so gorgeous! I've wanted to make one for years.
Wow... WOWW!!! Those are beautiful pieces of work! I admire both, stained glass and quilt. Very nice. Thanks for sharing those beautiful pictures, Tanya.
Wow, that is wonderful! I haven't done one yet and I can only hope I could finish one as beautiful as those displayed.
I've always loved stain glass quilts, unfortunately appliqué isn't my thing.
What a beautiful stained quilt. I will be grateful if you decide to organize a SAL and teach me how to make this gorgeous quilt.
