Happy Birthday Mother!
So we are at the end of the year. Tetsu and I did end of the year cleaning for most of the day yesterday and finished writing New Year's cards. (We're way late on that job). Today I'm making cookies and lining up some hand sewing for the holidays.
At the beginning of the year I got into the habit of saving the spools from the thread that I was using. Some of these were half used anyway but saving them gives me an idea of how much sewing I got done this year. That's a pretty good record of the work going on in my sewing room. (And this doesn't include the pre-wound bobbins that Mary sent me in June!)And the results of all that sewing was this:
All sizes of quilts. Two bags. And I've included the bazaar quilt and Mrs. Furui's birthday quilt that I worked on with friends. I guess I've kept busy this year. I hope my fingers will be as productive in 2012!

You've left out all the little village quilts you made with your students from this collage, but that is a lovely number of finishes for the year--Congratulations. Happy 90th to your mom! My MIL will be 93 next month and has aged a lot in the last year or two, but is still independent. I hope to be so lucky! Happy New Year to you and yours.
Mary hoped you would be able to use those pre-threaded bobbins..she bought them by mistake, as she discovered they were the wrong size for her machine...but she gave away, and gave away..bobbins by the dozens..as I think she bought 144 of them..also sending belated birthday wishes to Mother....hugs, Pat in IN

I love your collage. I wish I knew how to make pictures behave like that. My spools go the the Early Learning center for junk art. I don't think I had quite that many because everything is done by hand.
And... a husband that helps clean... Perhaps I should be reading this out loud. Thanks for your friendship over this past year and Blessings for the coming year.
