Well putting that frustration aside...
I did some sewing yesterday and have managed to finish making all the blocks for my Crazy Goose Chase. Last week I spent one day sewing the dark geese and another day sewing the light geese. And this week I sewed dark stars and yesterday, light stars.
This stack-and-whack type of sewing is interesting... A lot of guesswork... like which corner do I match up (because after the first seam the pieces are no longer the same size). And what part of this piece is excess and what part is important. I THINK I did it right. Since this is a Crazy Goose Chase quilt, the pieces are pretty wonky, pointing this way and that... The stars have different sized points etc.
You have no idea what I'm talking about right? It is impossible to explain. I need a picture!!!Okay. How about this? I took it on my cell phone. Not great but better than nothing.
My blocks are ready to be put together.
And when I'm downstairs in front of the TV I've been sewing stars for my Stars Within a Star quilt. I'm not sure about the block placement on this... I'm sort of thinking this needs something more within the quilt... And probably a border because alone this isn't going to be a size that will fit a bed or something (of course no bed for it to fit on but that's besides the point.)So that is what I've been doing when not looking for my camera in odd places.

Love your stary quilt! And I enjoyed reading about your beautiful children. You all had such exciting adventures. Re the camera... have you tried recreating the scene as you downloaded the photos and what you were thinking, what you did in order? I mean like... sit at the computer, relax, pretend you are downloading and then you... did? and then did something else, etc. I have done this and it has worked sometimes, especially if I can get myself back into what I was thinking at the time the thing got lost. The funniest thing that happened was when I couldn't find my pot holders and then found them in the refrigerator with the pot! The kids were little and I had been in a hurry. Hope the camera shows up.
I'm glad wonky blocks are a machine thing and I will never be tempted to try them. (I'm the one who straightend pictures on the wall and books on the shelf).I do love those stars in stars, however you put them together.
Your quilt is so very pretty, Tanya! I hope you find your camera soon.
I cannot imagine losing mine; it's like a limb.
You must be working on a Buggy Barn pattern. I've made 2 of their quilts. I just finished their "Crazy Eights" in reds, neutrals and greens. It made a nice wall hanging for Christmas. I pieced their "My Three Stars" several years ago in reds and neutrals, but I haven't quilted it yet. For someone like me who is a precision piecer, their wonky techique is way out of my comfort zone, but I love the whimsy of the final results.

Praying you find the camera soon xx
Re the camera: go back to where you first thought it was and check again. Sometimes we overlook things in obvious places and it is just behind something everyday. I looked for something in my purse, couldn't find it, did the massive search in every other place possible, then went back to the purse and there it was, tucked in a corner.
Good luck.

The middle pile of flying geese looks higher and not as flat. Is it under them? (the camera)
The comment about the potholders being in the fridge with the pot cracked me up!!
Love both these quilts!!
Love the wonky fun and the star blocks. I think your cellphone pics are just fine! Hope you either find the camera soon--or decide to give up and buy one :)
Your cellphone camera is doing allright, Tanya. Love the star block. It's awesome. Hope you'll find your camera soon. It's there somewhere, playing hide and seek with you ;)
LOVE your wonky geese and stars, that's my kind of quilting! Your stars are really pretty, I've made ONE like that and it took me forever, lol.
I'm SO liking your stars within a star project.
