Advanced class

Mrs. Furui and Mrs. Ochiai and I had a fun day putting together another McKenna Ryan quilt kit.  Actually we didn't finish it (too big!) but Mrs. Ochiai took it home to work on by herself.  She needs to add a team of reindeer.

Putting together the little village was great fun.

Santa's sleigh full of presents was a challenge but the fabrics are so beautiful and a delight to work with.

The "Advanced Patchwork Class" members.  Actually it only means the three of us are the most adventuresome of our group.  Of course we have invited our other patchwork friends to join us in the challenge of doing MeKenna Ryan's kits but everyone made excuses.

"It looks much too difficult for me."  (That's why we're working together.)

"I can't do machine quilting."  (Neither can the three of us but the only way to learn is to do it!)

"I have other patchwork projects that I haven't finished."  (That is not a legitimate excuse with the "advanced" members as we all have at least three projects in the closet waiting for us.)

Two kits down and two to go (give or take a couple...)  Of course the big question mark is still how to do the quilting...

Taniwa- Good project for you all and will remember making it together. Machine quilting tips on McKenna's web site. I used smoky invisible thread-blends nicely and a short zig zag or straight stitch the edges like topstitching.
