Noah's Ark BOM

If you look on the left you'll notice that I have put Lynette's Noah's Ark Free Block of the Month picture on my sidebar. I've dilly-dallied enough with not committing myself to this (and you all thought I had, right?) and just making a block every so often and wondering if I was going to continue or not. Well, I've got 5 blocks made now which is almost half and I really felt I needed to give credit due to Lynette for her lovely pattern and the fun time I've been having. I'm not very good at embroidery and didn't really even want to go out and buy any floss, so I've been scrounging around in my cupboards and using what I can find. Found quite a lot!

Look at this mess! And I wonder how long it has been in my cupboard... Quite a few years back I had bought a couple of embroidery stitchery kits which didn't take much thinking to do but were appropriate for my walls. I tried to be very organized and separate the floss given into little homemade racks of cardboard. My kits got up on the walls and the cardboard racks that were filled with odds and ends of embroidery floss got stuffed under other things in the cupboards. Who would have thought I'd ever use these threads again!

My elephant block got done very quickly on Thursday while chatting with my patchwork friends. Wow! Not even the middle of the month and I've completed it! Way ahead of myself! Now to go and let Lynette know I've been enjoying her work!

You may end up with this message several times, as Blogger went a little haywire! I'm so enjoying making Lynette's Noah's Ark blocks - really quick to do and so pretty. I've always done a lot of cross stitch and have lots of embroidery thread, but inherited some from my mother which was in a terrible tangle, so have been having fun unravelling and organising. Very therapeutic.

I am working on the blanket of my elephants right now and was studying yours. Thats when I noticed that the shoulder of the one elephant is missing.
I so enjoy reading your blog!!

The elephants are really cute. I'm looking forward to seeing what becomes of these stitcheries when you are finished. Say, did you get any suggestions on translators? I use Babel Fish (it's on my sidebar) but it isn't all that great. It just gives you an idea of the content - at least that has been the case with me with the Spanish language. I was wondering if you have come up with something better. If so, do tell.

Tanya, you're doing so much better than me! I've still got the kangaroos and elephants to do to be up to date. I will perservere though because I just love them!!
