The other night one of my jr. high school students and I were talking about TV programs and unusual things in Japan and we both remembered a TV program a year or so ago where they introduced "How to Fold a T-Shirt". So we decided to re-inact the process for you. (You can actually see the real thing on You-Tube). We both tried folding on camera but my student did a better job of filming than I did and he didn't want to be on my blog.
Please excuse the messy room. We had been studying and doing some writing before we got to the T-shirt part and it was sort of spur of the moment. If I had been planning to show this I would have cleaned the room first!!!
Actually I hang my T-shirts in the closet but this is sort of a fun way to do it. Trick your kids into trying it!

I saw this on Martha Stewart years ago and was fascinated then by the idea that someone actually thought of this idea. But I must say, it was so much better actually hearing our dear Tanya's lilting voice...and I do think you might even have done a more efficient folding job that Martha! So, can you show me how to fold a fitted sheet, next? Ok..so you probably don't even use them in Japan..or do you?
That's you???? you look great!!! (forgive my rudeness. Perhaps I've been mislead, because I thought you were about my mom's age!) it's great "meeting you".
I loved the video, by the way
I loved hearing your voice. I think its the one thing that is always surprising for me when I meet an online friend in person -- someone I may know well but their voice is completely unfamiliar.
You sounded exactly right to me! And not a bit camera shy!
I loved hearing your voice.
I wished I had seen this 15 or 20 years ago when my boys were home and in school!
I think your video may make my top ten!
if only socks would find their mate and roll themselves :-)
now that I have heard your voice, I feel like we have MET! HA! It sounds just like I thought it would...friendly!
Tanya: You should be in the movies! You look wonderful, great job at folding a T-shirt as well.
Rae Ann
I see a film career in your future. I need to trick my husband into learning this... ;)
It's lovely to hear your voice Tanya, now when I read your posts I can imagine you speaking. Keryn and I have really been enjoying your blog, especially the kitties and your wonderful quilt you started with Tonya. My blocks fell by the wayside, but one day I'll get back to them. Keep posting, I love the glimpses into another way of life!
My daughter sent me the youtube video a while back. I think she was sending me a hint. It sounds like a great way to fold a tshirt, just takes practice to get it right.
Aside from the video content, which is fascinating (and I never can remember how to do it when confronted by a pile of laundry!), now I have heard you, and can imagine your voice talking when I read your blog. The other commenters are right - you need to hear a person's voice to really meet them.
great to "see" you :-) If I tried that, the T shirt would end up inside out !!!
LOL - what a great trick. I'd seen it before but had forgotten about it...
off to show the kids ;o)
That is so brilliant... and funny... Tanya, I had to go straight to my laundry to try it out but all I had downstairs was a singlet top but I tried it anyway and it worked perfectly!
I will have to show off to my children now.
Thank you.... LOL
