Sunday our church had a small barbecue lunch and service outside in the beautiful hills of Nikko.
We grilled chicken skewers and made fried noodles as well as sausages and other meats.
Also served was KIMCHEE the smelly, very spicy Korean pickles that are very popular in Japan. Everyone brought their own rice balls and tea. No such things as steak or hamburgers or hot dogs but still a lot of food and it was delicious.
After lunch a few of us enjoyed the hot springs that are almost private baths. No one but the church people know about this lovely area so we had the the baths all to ourselves.
Another exercise in
NOT SEEING. I played around with one member's baby in the bath. The baby hadn't developed the not seeing skill yet and thought I was better endowed than her mother...

Dinner looks [and sounds] delicious, except for the pickles, lol! Had to laugh out loud at the baby - oh I could never get used to bathing in front of others, even if I myself had the not seeing skill! All those windows would give me a panic attack, lol.
I got a giggle out of your last paragraph, out of the mouth of babes!

I know what Kimchee is, Garry is half Japanese and loves Kimchee. The chicken skewers sound delishous too. I am sure that fun was had by all.
That babe is too cute.

I mostly lurk, but I love your blog. I wanted to ask about the kimchee - I believe the traditional process for making it is similar to the traditional process for western pickling. Do you know how it's made, and if so, could you share? Thanks!
That child is beautiful!
I too, was greatly amused by your last paragraph. It all comes down to the Emperors Clothes I guess!
The pool looks so inviting.
Yeah Kimchee sure does smell bad, but eaten with something else is WONDERFUL!
We've finally found some mineral baths here in the desert, each has it's own private room..kind of cool. Not so much "not seeing" going on!
Out of the mought os babes!
