And these other green pictures are of a nearby lotus "field" or bog that I pass on my daily walk. The flowers are about the size of a small pineapple and the leaves are about two feet in diameter. Lotus roots are quite crunchy and delicious and at this time of year we get to enjoy the lovely flowers and delicate green.

Everyone's foliage around here is turning brown (grass mostly) so it's good to see the green. A good soaking rain would surely help.
I really love that first lotus picture! I almost looks like you are underwater looking up, but then the blossom tells your mind, no, that's impossible. Wonderful picture!
Echoing what Connie said, it's good to see intense green where everything here is parched and brown, we are experiencing a terrible drought. I didn't know that lotus root was edible... you are always teaching me valuable lessons... for that I thank you! The Japanese "finger pose" was enlightening info. too, I do remember Janet Lynn!
that's your daily walk? wow, beautiful.
How beautiful! We had thunderstorms last night too.
Ok, with that kind of daily walk, I'm SURE I would be adding to the pedometer just to be able to see more. Beautiful!
