A great leap of faith I took yesterday was to join Tonya's online quilting class! I'm such an ol' stick in the mud it is hard to try new things but I really wanted to study under Tonya and I'm thankful for this computer age when we have the ability to at our fingertips even though she lives in France and I'm in Japan. We're supposed to keep things a little mysterious on our blogs so I may not have much to say about this upcoming experience but I will drop hints about what we are doing.

My last star

That star is beautiful Tanya.
And I can see your cats agree!
And I thought only beginners have those calculation problems...! Your star looks great. Have fun with Tonya's class.
I love these feathered stars Tanya - I take my hat off to you for your persistence - I know I would've done one and then got bored and gone to do something else - as for working out the maths for settings etc go to Bonnie's site www.quiltville.com - she has a very useful page on working out settings etc
I love feathered stars and yours is wonderful. You cats are adorable too!! That picture really makes me smile.
At least the kitties like it...
I have "never" bothered with those kinds of numbers... I usually go scrappy, so if I don't have enough of one, I can choose another...
(BUT I do have 1 quilt where I ended up with a 2.5 inch strip left over of my single background - scary...)
Such beautiful stars! You really do lots of different kinds of quilting, to be in Tonya's class and make these, too!
I think Tonya's class will be a hoot....
Those stars are so pretty! Congratulations on finishing them. I too have those calculation problems. I have two suggestions:
1. buy lots of fabric. you can always keep the rest for the stash or give it away.
2. you can look at another quilt pattern and substitute your stars for whatever they are using.
You're cut out to be a quilter, just not one who figures out and measures things. I can't do it. I just make quilts that don't call for it and make em scrappy to boot.
I am cleaning up in the quilt studio..so I will keep looking for my instruction for the sashings. How big are your star blocks?
Your sewing looks so precise. Congrats on getting twelve of them made. I'll be looking for the finished product when it's completed.
